Birthday

Just before 8 pm tonight Zachary Alex was born via c-section. He weighed in at a hearty 4 lbs 8 oz and is 17" long. He has a mighty cry as he came out and seems to be well on his way in life. His lungs are underdeveloped so they're watching that. He's been breathing well with a oxygen mask nearby blowing in at 40%.

Elena is doing well. She is sore but a lot happier with this surgery than the last one. This one was fairly organized and people were ready to go and the experts were in the room.

We don't know yet if Zach will go across town to St. Mary's because of the breathing but we'll find out tomorrow. If he goes over there Elena will have to stay in Methodist so thats not so good.

Its all just been harrowing around here and him being born, even early, has been a bit of a relief. We've been in and out of the hospitals and its just been not easy.
