Past few days

Last Tuesday, we had the Watson family and some relatives from Wales and England up to Rochester to visit and see the new house. We went to the Olive Garden for supper. The kids are getting over sickness. Zach had some nasty nasty pink eye and gave it to Elena, and Olivia had a high fever and was just miserable.

We watched Collateral with Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx. Cruise plays an assassin and Foxx a cabbie who unwillingly helps in some killings. The plot was a bit goofy and unrealistic but it made for an entertaining couple of hours. I liked it.

Olivia has been showing off her ability to count. She can count to 10. Usually. Sometimes she doesn't start with one or will repeat the same number over and over.

new kid

AJ and Linda had a baby boy this morning. At the ultrasound they were told a girl but it popped out a boy. They had names prepared for this contingency and Adam fit the bill. Eight pounds thirteen ounces.

The other day Olivia was playing in our living room. She was laughing and talking and being really loud. Well, some people walked by and the dog started barking noisily at them. I told him to, "shush."

Olivia, who calls Speckles, "Bubbles," shouted out, "Shush, Bubbles." "Shush, Bubbles." Then went back to babbling incessantly and making more and more noise with a random, "Shush, Bubbles," thrown in there.

House

Our house is on the market now and we're buying this other house. I'm excited and all. It's an expensive place but nice. I can't wait to move in and with this get over. We are in constant phone and email communication with bankers and realtors which is nice to be kept up to date but there just isn't a break.

Zach is still miserable but getting better. His pink-eye is improving but he still wants to eat all the time. He wakes up a few times a night crying because his belly is empty. We go over to him and he looks up so sweetly and stops crying because he knows he is going to be picked up and food is going to be in his belly. He gets so happy when stuffed silly. We've been giving him lots of meds too. Ibuprofin, Tylenol, Dimetap and eye-drops are the concoction he gets. He doesn't like any of them.

busy days

We've been packing up, cleaning, running around and working the past week trying to get ready for our house to sell and to move into our new one. Zach has been very sick with pink eye and high temps. He's been just miserable and has made it hard to get things done. Olivia has been good but she knows that something is going on and has been a bit ornery.

house hunting cont

We've been really busy packing up and organizing our house. We've been on the phone with realtors and lenders a lot recently and our life is fairly hectic right now.

Kids have been great.

Went to Travis and Michelle's tonight for tacos and games. Was a fun break.

House hunting

We went to see a few houses with a realtor the other day. We really really like the first one we saw. It has a massive sun room, a large open basement (some of it unfinished), a huge beautiful deck made of plastic decking, lots of prairie grass and trees, a mowed path throughout the land (approx 5 acres), cedar siding, cherry kitchen cabinets and a cedar swingset. Some other pluses were a small 8x10 shed and a two animal kennel. We're going to see it again with the realtor tomorrow. We talked with different lenders and it looks like we qualify but they're asking much more than the appraised value and for what the neighbor houses sold so we have a good shot at lowing their listing by quite a bit. The previous owner was a doctor who didn't get hired at Mayo so he moved his family back to California and the house is empty. Another plus is a friend at work's property butts up against the back of this one's.
